First Day at School - back in 1959

    I have a similar picture of me from 1963 or 4, bottle green cap and blazer, the latter 3 sizes too big (you'll soon grow into them) and hairy grey shorts.

    Why on earth do we still inflict school uniforms on our children? It pains me to see Joseph go off in the morning in dull uniform rather than happy kids clothes. Not that he's bothered in the slightest.

    Shame on our teaching profession that it thinks it needs to use the school uniform to exert their authority.
